Dr. Audrey Ahuero - Houston Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Audrey Ahuero is a board-certified Ophthalmologist specializing in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, the oldest medical certifying board in the United States.

Dr. Ahuero a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. She was then selected for one of eighteen annual positions in the United States for an Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship offered through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). She spent two years in the highly competitive fellowship exclusively dedicated to plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit, lacrimal system (tear drain) and upper face.

Dr. Ahuero is thrilled to have returned home to Texas to practice at Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons of Texas. Her specific areas of interest are facial rejuvenation, eyelid malposition correction, skin cancer reconstruction and treatment of tearing disorders. She welcomes adult and pediatric patients.

Dr. Ahuero is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. She has hospital privileges at The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital and Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital.
